Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Novaier (“Novaier”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit novaier.com or contact us. We keep the data we hold to a minimum and we never sell it.
Who we are
Novaier is an atelier producing handcrafted solid marble furniture, based in Italy. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Novaier is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can reach us at any time at studio@novaier.com.
What data we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and to keep the website running.
- Information you give us. When you email us or send an enquiry, we receive your name, your email address and anything you choose to include in your message, such as details of a commission.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical data when a page is loaded, including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, and the date and time of the visit. This is held in server logs for security and diagnostics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookies section below.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (such as health, political or biometric data), and we ask that you do not send any to us.
How we use your data
- To reply to your enquiries and discuss commissions, materials and lead times.
- To operate, maintain and secure the website and protect it from abuse.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with our legal obligations where they apply.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Your consent, for any non-essential cookies or analytics.
- Steps taken at your request before entering into a possible commission, when you contact us about a piece.
- Our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, securing the website and understanding how it is used, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.
Cookies
This site is intentionally simple and does not use cookies to track you across other websites. We may use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, and, only with your agreement, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that helps us count visits without building a profile of you. You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; the site will continue to work without them.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our correspondence, and only as far as they need it to do that work:
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Our email provider, which delivers and stores the messages you send us.
- Where used, a privacy-friendly analytics provider.
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you contact us again, then we delete it. Server logs are kept only for a short period for security and troubleshooting. We do not keep personal data longer than necessary.
How we protect your data
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights; we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at studio@novaier.com and we will respond within the time required by law.
Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally so you stay informed about how we handle your data.
